Emerging markets have truly emerged in the past decade. As discussed in our recent article "Emerging Markets Picks", while the recession ended last year for most of the world, the economies of developed nations have been particularly slow to recover. Emerging markets, meanwhile, "have the capital -- both homegrown and attracted from abroad -- to start new businesses and build upon existing ones." The stock market values and GDPs of numerous emerging markets are growing at faster rates than those of the United States. The infographic below illustrates the top 10 emerging markets in the world.
